What happens if my last passport was issued before 2002?+
You do not qualify for VIP. If it was issued between 1994 and 2001, Gold applies at £799, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. If it was issued before 1994, or your passport history is unclear, it is treated as a first-time application at £1,499, around 4 weeks on a best-endeavours basis.
Do I still need to send my old passport if it expired years ago?+
Yes. HM Passport Office uses your previous passport to help verify your identity and passport history, even if it expired years ago. We return it to you along with your new one.
When does the 2-week guarantee start?+
When DHL Express collects your complete document pack and/or passport from you. It does not start at payment if your documents have not yet been provided.
What if I am a dual citizen and have been travelling on my other passport?+
If you are a British citizen or dual national travelling to the UK, you may not be able to rely on a foreign passport alone. Start the renewal before you travel rather than discovering the problem at check-in. We will also confirm whether any of your foreign documents are needed for the application.
My name has changed since my last passport. Can I still use this service?+
